Aromatherapy Dough

Squeeze the dough, the heat from your hands will release the scent of the oils, smell the fragrance, and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of the pure and natural essential oils.

Aromatherapy Dough Recipe
2 cups of plain flour
4 tablespoons of ‘cream of tartar’
2 tablespoons of cooking oil
1 cup of salt
2 cups of boiling water
Food colouring and glitter for children

Mix together and make a hollow in the dough ball, add your essential oils to it, and need well to distribute the oils throughout the dough. Essential oils are very concentrated, so never use more than a drop of each oil in each batch.

 

Edible Dough
This is perfect for children who will eat other dough. Its natural and safe and does not contain any salt that would make the child ill. Although it does not have the same crafting qualities it can still be painted afterwards and varnished if you wish to keep it. Fun for everyone. 

Oatmeal Play Dough
1 Cup flour
2 Cups Oatmeal
1 Cup water

 

Mix together and shape, can be painted when dry. 

Jelly Play Dough
This recipe needs to cool down completely before storing it in an airtight container. The items made from this play dough recipe can be painted when they are dry.  

Jelly Play Dough Recipe
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
1 cup water
1 tablespoon oil
2 teaspoons Cream of Tartar
1 (3-1/2 oz.) package "unsweetened" Jelly Crystals
 

 

Mix all ingredients together and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until consistency of mashed potatoes. Let cool and knead with floured hands until dry. 

Don't want to make your own dough: then buy it and still have fun. Non toxic and suitable for the oven or microwave.
